Success in Malmö

Playing two days with completely different setlists at Malmö Melodic with JD Miller.

In the most shady parts of Malmö at the location "Plan B” the first iteration of Malmö Melodic was held. A three days festival with 100% focus on AOR. And in the midst of it all, and twice, we in JD Miller take on the stage with our harder melodic metal. Giving it 100% with our heavier music and energetic stage show.

Day 1: Due to a cancellation we offered to play one extra day with a complete different set. So the first day focused on the music from the 2019 album ’Afterglow’. The album that made me a fan of JD Miller before I joined. With some technical issues before we took on the stage it wasn’t our greatest performance. But both we and most important, the audience had fun. Though we did get a great review in on of Swedens biggest rock magazines.

“We are talking about complete dominance from the first second.” - Rocknytt

Day 2: Better luck with the technical stuff, and a much better performance from us all. Sadly the festival didn’t communicate that we played different setlists, and thus we played for a smaller crowd the second day. But the material from our latest album ’Empyrean' really resonates with me. I really love playing this music.

“One in a Million is undoubtedly one of the best songs of the year, and the closing track Alive is heartbreakingly good! Those of you who were at the festival but skipped seeing JD Miller during their second performance missed out on something truly great. It’s your own fault!”

Personally I must thank Christian Olsson at UNICORNbass for my latest instrument. The 6-string Ozellman. What an incredible instrument, and it was an honor to bring it on stage for its maiden voyage to its home soil, Skåne.
