Afterwit (feat. Jonny Trobro)

Honestly, the only reason I got interested in the Ibanez BTB805MS bass was the awesome sound and playing by Bitoku in the launch videos. The tone, the incredible technique combined with good musical taste, and the cleanliness of his playing. I was blown away. One of the new generation guys that make you feel like you're just an old dusty dinosaur forgotten in the backroom of an ancient museum.
First Monday as a "legend". Thanks @Bitoku_Bass for the kindest words ever. Does it make me feel old? Hell no! It feels awesome ❤️🙏🏻
Check out his @Nevrness project for impressive bass playing. #bassplayersunite pic.twitter.com/6T9sFAY10t— Jonny Trobro (@JonnyTrobro) September 5, 2022
Well, I got interested and followed his solo project Nevrness on Twitter, and got an incredible response on Instagram, that I tweeted about. (the time we are wasting on those social media platforms 🙈)
The story would be a highlight of my career if it had stopped at this point.
A musician you admire knows who you are.
What else can you ask for?
Well, Bitoku asked for a collaboration 🤯! Add a solo to the song Afterwit, to be precise. Of course I got panic and said yes.
So do I slap, tap and play fast runs all over the fretboard? Then it hit me...
Do something thats stands out and is true to your heart
...and that is to sing it on my fretless bass. I really love the sound of my fretless bass, and it gives me such pleasure to play it. No metal junk in the way, just fingers, strings and wood. I'm proud to say that I've played fretless on all three major projects I've been involved in, Find Me, First Signal and Hydra. And now Nevrness...
I started the recording session by adding some chords with the 5-string baritone guitar, only to have a tonal reference for intonation purposes, but it added a great atmosphere so we left it in the song.
